FAQ

1. Do I need to install it on BungeeCord?

No. You only need to install it on each sub-server and configure the following in config.yml:

server is the sub-server identifier; for proxy servers configure this first (/server lobby teleports).

Configure to MySQL mode.

2. Common PlaceholderAPI Variables

Run the following commands to install PAPI expansion components (choose as needed):

papi ecloud download playerpapi ecloud download vaultpapi ecloud download serverpapi ecloud download Multiverse (optional for multi-world v4) papi reload

3. Can't receive messages after manually adding a channel?

Except for the default channel default, other newly added channels require giving players the corresponding permission.

playerChat.chat.channel_name to receive messages.

Chat channels registered by third-party plugins do not require permissions (handled by the third-party plugin).

4. Duplicate messages appear after installing the plugin?

If you also have CMI installed, just disable CMI's chat feature.

Path to disable CMI chat: plugins/CMI/Settings/Chat.yml

Set the following two to false:

yml
Chat.ModifyChatFormat: false
Chat.ClickHoverMessages: false

5. How to configure RGB colors?

Configuration format: &#FF0000 example. Or 3.x+ can directly use MiniMessage format.

6. How to set player chat colors

Use /plc setColor [player] [type] [color] to set a player's chat color. Types can be customized; the plugin maps each type to an internal ${type_color} variable. Can be used in the chat format in chat.yml.

For example, set the player name and message colors for Handy:

yml
/plc setColor Handy player &a
/plc setColor Handy message &f

Use the corresponding variables in chat.yml:

yml
'${player_color}${head}${player}&7: '

'${message_color}${message}'
